How to Get Your Podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts

🚀 Your Podcast Isn’t Live Until It’s Everywhere

Recording your first few episodes is exciting—but none of it matters if no one can find your show. Getting listed on Spotify and Apple Podcasts is a key step in launching, but if you’ve never done it before, the process can feel vague.

At That Toronto Podcast Studio, we make sure your podcast gets listed properly across all the major platforms—no errors, no missed steps. Here’s how it works.

🎧 Step 1: Choose a Podcast Hosting Platform

Before you can appear on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, you need a podcast host. This is where your audio files are stored and distributed from.

Popular options:

  • Buzzsprout

  • Libsyn

  • Transistor

  • Podbean

  • Anchor (now Spotify for Podcasters)

We help you pick the right host based on your goals, budget, and how much control you want over analytics and monetization.

đź”— Step 2: Set Up Your RSS Feed

Your podcast host creates an RSS feed—basically a link that automatically updates new episodes wherever your show is published.

Your feed must include:

  • Show title and description

  • Cover art (minimum 1400x1400 pixels)

  • Episode files with proper metadata

  • Category, language, and content tags

🎨 We help format your artwork, clean your episode titles, and make sure your feed is ready before submission.

📤 Step 3: Submit to Spotify

With your RSS feed ready:

  1. Go to Spotify for Podcasters

  2. Log in or create an account

  3. Paste your RSS feed

  4. Confirm your show details

  5. Submit and verify your email

Turnaround: usually live within 1–2 hours.

🍎 Step 4: Submit to Apple Podcasts

Apple’s setup is slightly different:

  1. Go to Apple Podcasts Connect

  2. Sign in with your Apple ID

  3. Add your RSS feed

  4. Wait for Apple to review it

  5. Approve and go live

Turnaround: usually 24–72 hours, depending on Apple’s review time.

đź’ˇ We monitor submissions and follow up if something gets stuck or flagged.

âž• Step 5: Submit to Other Platforms

Once you’re listed on Spotify and Apple, you should also submit to:

  • Google Podcasts (currently merging into YouTube Music)

  • Amazon Music / Audible

  • iHeartRadio

  • Stitcher (was sunset but some feeds are still active)

  • Pocket Casts, Overcast, Castbox, etc.

We can handle all of this for you and confirm your show is live across every platform that matters.
